He describes it as one of the first steps in managing big emotions and reducing our emotional reactivity. Of course, a calmer brain is a super important reason to practice labelling your child’s emotions. WebbSome believe playdough is more of a STE A M (science, technology, engineering, art, and mathematics) activity. Yes, playdough is a STEAM activity as well. Overall, we try not to get too hung up in the debate between STEM vs STEAM. Both have their merits, and we enjoy mixing a bit of art in our STEM.
